TR-55 Urban Hydrology for Small Watersheds
Revised in June 1986, Technical Release 55 (TR-55) presents simplified
procedures to calculate storm runoff volume, peak rate of discharge,
hydrographs, and storage volumes required for floodwater reservoirs. These
procedures are applicable in small watersheds, especially urbanizing watersheds
in the United States. Contact the District office during regular business hours
to obtain your copy.
Soil Surveys
The Soil Survey for Camden County is part of the 1961 series, No. 42, and was
issued in April 1966. A soil survey contains maps and a description of each
major soil in the county. More important, the soil survey tells how soil
properties affect a wide range of rural and urban land uses. Soil surveys can
help a homebuyer or developer determine soil-related hazards or limitations
that affect home sites. They can help land use planners determine the
suitability of areas for housing or onsite sewage disposal systems. They can
help farmers estimate the potential crop or forage production of land. They can
be used to determine the suitability and limitations of soils for pipelines,
buildings, landfills, recreation areas and many other uses.
Camden City and Gloucester City soils were not mapped at the time of the
survey.
The current version of the soil survey has been reproduced digitally in
adobe acrobat format. To receive a copy, please contact this office at (856)
